AMPORTS chief to retire

James Davis, chief executive officer of AMPORTS Inc., will retire at year’s end, the company said. Steven Reed, chief operating officer, will succeed Davis.

Rand’s experience includes executive stints at United States Lines, Mitsui O.S.K. and CSX Intermodal.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based company is a large processor of vehicles at U.S. and Mexican ports, handling more than 1 million vehicles per year.

Davis joined AMPORTS as COO in 1999 when the company was owned by Associated British Ports. Last June the company was acquired by investment group AIG Highstar Capital.
