Jeff Barrie to lead DB Schenker USA’s operations

Industry veteran Jeffery Barrie has been named CEO of DB Schenker USA, effective Nov. 1, 2018. Barrie will lead all operations in the U.S. and report directly to Philippe Gilbert, Region Americas CEO.

Barrie has spent over 25 years in the industry, including his time with DB Schenker, which he joined in 2006 when BAX Global was acquired by DB Schenker. He was most recently senior vice president, Global Projects and Oil & Gas.

“When I joined the DB Schenker team 12 years ago I wanted to be a part of a company where we could push the limits of the logistics and supply chain management industry. Today, I am even more convinced that DB Schenker is that company,” said Barrie in a statement. “Over the past 6 years we have seen Philippe’s leadership in the America’s region produce amazing results for our customers and stakeholders. … I am very excited to take on new responsibilities with DB Schenker based on this foundation, and I am looking forward to engaging with the team, and customers to accelerate growth and performance.”

DB Schenker USA is a large integrated logistics service provider with over 7,000 employees across 39 branches. The company operates 55 logistics centers covering over 21 million sq. ft. of distribution space for its clients. It operates international service hubs in Atlanta, Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco with express service from all major U.S. points to over 150 global destinations it said. Export hubs are in operation in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Charleston, New York and Chicago.
