Joint-employer rule

A federal district court has found that the Department of Labor’s final rule that narrowed the definition of joint employment under the Fair Labor Standards Act violated the Administrative Procedure Act has struck down portions of the rule.

A new rule from the National Labor Relations Board clarifies joint-employer status under the National Labor Relations Act. With a stricter standard, employers will have more clarity around which company has legal responsibility for employees.
