The Truckload Carriers Association’s 39th annual Safety & Security Meeting begins today. The three-day event, presented by ACT 1, is virtual and runs through June 25. It is not too late to register.

The event features general sessions and panels, including a Trucking Executive panel on June 23 featuring Dennis Dellinger, president & CEO of Cargo Transporters, and Dan Doran, president of Doran Logistics Services. They will join TCA President John Lyboldt to discuss the current economic environment and its impact on safety, drivers and other pressing issues facing carriers.

An afternoon Fireside Chat will feature a representative from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Each day will feature a Virtual Vendor Showcase.

Day two will feature more discussions, including a presentation by Kary Schaefer, general manager of Freightliner, on what the safety truck of the future will look like. Additionally, sessions on marijuana concerns, insurance, roadside inspections and changing the safety culture are some of the additional sessions planned for June 24.

Cyber security, nuclear verdicts and risk mitigation strategies for open deck carriers are among the day three highlights.
