Today’s Pickup: WorkHound platform reveals driver concerns over COVID-19

Plus: UPS, DHL impose coronavirus surcharges

Good day,

The WorkHound driver feedback platform keeps truckers and company management in sync to improve driver retention rates. During the coronavirus emergency, the system offers insights into the way drivers feel about  COVID-19. According to the WorkHound team, the virus now comprises a significant percentage of overall driver-to-management communications. Here are a few stats and comments showing how drivers are feeling about the pandemic:

Twenty-five percent of communications have been dedicated to planning concerns, with drivers wanting to know that carriers have a protocol in place for what to do with the truck if they get sick. Twenty-three percent of the comments revolved around sanitation – what precautions companies are taking to ensure equipment is safe and sanitized. Twelve percent of communications reflected concerns about the benefits their companies offer. “With the COVID-19 going around, and us drivers constantly out in the public, it is scary to think that we don’t have any sick days or PTO time,” said one driver.

Six percent of communications revolved around challenges accessing necessities.

“Truckstop restaurants are being closed. This puts a large strain on drivers’ health and well-being if we cannot eat, we cannot operate efficiently,” according to one driver.

Around 30,000 truck drivers across the U.S. offer feedback through the WorkHound platform.

Quotable

“People are appreciating truck drivers a little more than they used to. I think we’re getting back to truckers as ‘knights of the road.’”

Final thoughts,

Logistics companies are passing on added costs associated with COVID-19 to shippers. UPS has instituted a surcharge for International Air Freight services to “support the demand and needs of customers,” a spokesperson told FreightWaves. DHL will apply an “emergency situation” coronavirus surcharge, effective April 1.

Hammer down, everyone!

If you were to go back to as far as1888 to find PUBLISHED SCIENTIFIC PROOF on what was used to combat respiratory diseases etc with a very high success rate , you would fall off your chair in awe . The one’s that were treated with it in the 1918 “Spanish Flu Pandemic”(Influenza) were released from the viral infection with success within hours while those that were not , were dying at alarming rates .

Unfortunately I cannot mention it here because the “cure” successful PHYSICIANS/DOCTORS were using is not a drug !

Interestingly enough those dying due to being infected with the flu during the flu epidemic that began in 1918 were not dying because they were infected with the flu virus , but mainly due to pneumonia caused by bacterial infections and overdosing on aspirin(aspirin poisoning)

In conclusion from my perspective the reason for which pandemics occur and lead to death is due to the cause being misunderstood . If the cause is misunderstood then it will be extremely difficult and time consuming to remedy .

If the cause is understood by the medical establishment and they are controlled by way of only using what is accepted by the medical establishment , then to find(invent & or test) something successful that is recognized and accepted by the medical establishment which equates to “enormous profit” is and or can be extremely time consuming .

Governments and physicians keep repeating that the pandemic is a war against a virus . I am one to believe that the “war” is one on ignorance . It is ignorance that leads to our demise and suffering .

Then they have the audacity to preach solidarity ??? LOL !

If there were to be a true solidarity(unity) among the people , the current establishment(system) would collapse and be no more ! This does not mean it would lead to anarchy . It simply means that a different one would be created to replace it . One based on ethics , rather than on profit, control , and greed .

One day the people will awake in mass . A little like how woman are treated today compared to the way they were in the 1920’s due to their awakening since then . If one were to look back at how they were treated compared to today , most would be in shock ! For this inhumane treatment to cease it took a lot of effort and work . However, change became today’s reality and their quality of life increased . Amazing what has occurred over the past 100 years because they took a stand and said enough is enough .

Though in the trucking industry most drivers remain asleep ! Now that is a real pity .

    In my humble opinion ………
