  • Nick Austin

    Nick is a meteorologist with 20 years of forecasting and broadcasting experience. He was nominated for a Midsouth Emmy for his coverage during a 2008 western Tennessee tornado outbreak. He received his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Florida State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Tech. Nick is a member of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association. As a member of the weather team at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee, Nick was nominated for a Mid-South Emmy for live coverage of a major tornado outbreak in February 2008. As part of the weather team at WRCB-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Nick shared the Chattanooga Times-Free Press Best of the Best award for “Best Weather Team” eight consecutive years.
  • Michael Baudendistel

    Mike Baudendistel is an analyst and Market Expert at FreightWaves focusing on the railroad, intermodal and transportation equipment industries.     Blythe Brumleve got her start in freight marketing as an executive assistant working for a large 3PL in North Florida where she would eventually be tasked with handling the company’s digital media strategy. This is where she earned her chops as a marketer forced to do it all with a limited budget around the time when the inbound marketing concept was born. It was this job and a side-hustle blog that earned her eventual roles with a B2B marketing agency, on-air radio talent, and TV talent.

    Dooner is an award-winning content producer and host who is currently creating new podcasts, TV shows, newsletters and multimedia for FreightWaves. In under a year he helped build FreightCasts, the world’s largest logistics and supply chain podcast network in media. Dooner is a 16-year industry veteran who has held directors positions in operations, sales, consulting, and marketing. He has worked with FedEx, Reebok, Adidas, L.L. Bean, Hasbro, Louis Vuitton, and many more high level clients across the full spectrum of the supply chain.     Sydney is a writer and podcast host for Running on Ice, covering all things in the cold chain world. Her background includes years as a reporter, uncovering local news stories and networking with community leaders. This native Ohioan now calls Chattanooga, TN home. Sydney enjoys traveling, trying new foods and taking long walks at the dog park.
  • Luke Falasca

    Luke Falasca joined FreightWaves in June of 2019 as a SONAR Account Executive. In addition to finding SONAR solutions for FreightWaves' clients each day, Luke joined the media team to lead the Broker segment for the show FreightWaves Now. As SONAR continued to grow with our clients, Luke had to dial back his time with the media team, but he still remains active with the FreightWaves TV team by continuing to host the show #WithSONAR each Wednesday afternoon. #WithSONAR viewers rely heavily on Luke's experience from his days working in the 3pl industry and his vast knowledge of the SONAR platform that he has gained over the years to keep viewers informed with changes in the freight market.

    Cassandra Gaines is CEO of Carrier Assure Inc., a transportation law expert, and a transportation industry influencer. She was recently named one of the 100 People Transforming Business in North America by Business Insider joining alumni such as Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, and Jeff Bezos. Cassandra has disrupted the transportation industry with a lively Joe Rogan-like show called “MadGaines Live” where each month, thousands of loyal viewers tune into FreightWaves TV for her educational, non-traditional show where she unites a very fragmented, volatile industry. Now Cassandra has disrupted the industry again as the Founder and CEO of Carrier Assure Inc. which is the industry's first performance scoring software that anticipates how the carrier will transport the goods based on data science and trends.
