Why You Can Trust FreightWaves Checkpoint
FreightWaves has covered the logistics industry since 2016, and our newsroom reports on the fulfillment providers and parcel carriers on this page as a daily beat.
For this guide we pulled every provider’s Shopify App Store listing directly and recorded its rating, review count and launch date, then checked each company’s own documentation for what the integration actually does. Ratings were captured in August 2026 and move over time. Where a provider does not publish something, we say so rather than estimating.
Does Shopify Have Its Own Fulfillment Service?
No, and it has not since 2023. Shopify sold Shopify Logistics, including Deliverr, to Flexport in May 2023. What exists today is the Shopify Fulfillment Network app, which routes merchants to vetted third-party partners. Shopify operates no warehouses of its own.
- Shopify’s partner page lists eight partners: Flexport, Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, Bigblue, DHL, GoBolt, Mayple Global, ShipBob, and Shipfusion. Five of those joined in August 2025.
- The Fulfillment Network app itself lists only four: Flexport, ShipBob, Shipfusion, and ShipMonk. ShipMonk does not appear on the partner page at all.
- The Fulfillment Network app is rated 1.9 out of 5 across three reviews, the lowest rating of any fulfillment app covered in this guide.
- Flexport, the designated preferred partner, applies a $5,000 monthly minimum fulfillment spend to all accounts as of Jan. 1, 2026. Flexport estimates the change affects merchants shipping under roughly 500 orders a month.
For a Shopify store shipping under 500 orders a month, most of the network Shopify recommends is out of reach.

Providers With Proven Shopify Apps
ShipBob: The most-reviewed fulfillment app on the platform at 279 reviews and a 4.4 rating, running across more than 60 fulfillment centers globally. It is both a Shopify Fulfillment Network partner and independently listed, so you can connect it either way. Real-time inventory sync across locations, and the deepest integration catalog in the category at more than 200 retail and ecommerce channels.
ShipMonk: A 4.5 rating across 97 reviews, with five U.S. metro locations plus Canada, the UK and the Czech Republic. ShipMonk appears inside the Shopify Fulfillment Network app but not on Shopify’s partner page, which looks like an inconsistency on Shopify’s side rather than a problem with ShipMonk.
LVK Logistics: A 4.5 rating across 78 reviews on an app live since July 2019. LVK is the former ShipHero fulfillment business, spun out as a separate company in August 2024. However, the App Store listing still shows ShipHero as the developer and bills through ShipHero. Negative reviews cite a reported overbilling incident, lost packages, and inventory mix-ups. LVK’s own site says six fulfillment centers on one page and seven on another.
Fulfillrite: A 5.0 rating across 34 reviews, and the only provider in this guide that explicitly states its integration works on every Shopify plan including Plus. Two facilities, in Lakewood, New Jersey and Salt Lake City, provide same-day shipping on orders received by 2 p.m. local Monday through Thursday. Tracking pushes back to Shopify white-labeled, so customers never see the Fulfillrite name.
Cahoot: A 4.5 rating across 25 reviews and a genuinely different model. Cahoot runs a peer-to-peer network where certified merchants with spare warehouse capacity fulfill each other’s orders, with Cahoot routing each order to the best node. You can join purely as a fulfillment customer without operating a warehouse yourself. The company claims roughly 30% lower cost than traditional third-party logistics (3PL) companies, though it publishes no methodology behind that figure.
Pro tip: Check the review count before the star rating, then read the one-star reviews specifically. Confirm the process for shipping inventory to a fulfillment center at the same time.
Shopify Fulfillment Network Partners
Five partners joined the network in August 2025.
- Bigblue: A 5.0 rating across 11 reviews with nine EU warehouses. This is a European operation, so U.S. merchants should treat it as a cross-border option rather than a domestic one.
- Mayple Global: Cross-border expansion rather than classic fulfillment, covering more than 80 countries and handling customs compliance and localized delivery. It is the only provider here publishing Shopify Markets compatibility, which matters if you sell internationally. Mayple does not state whether it owns its facilities or uses partners.
- GoBolt: Twelve fulfillment centers across North American metros with carbon-neutral last-mile positioning. Its own site targets brands shipping 3,000-plus orders a month, a threshold Shopify does not mention.
- DHL Fulfillment: Global reach and a serious operator, but the Shopify app launched in March 2025 and has no reviews yet. The 3,000-order monthly starting point rules out most small and mid-size stores.
- Shipfusion: Owned warehouses in Chicago, Las Vegas, York, Pennsylvania and Toronto, with a focus on supplements, beauty, and food and beverage. Its app has been live since September 2021 with no reviews.
Providers With Thin or No App Presence
Several credible fulfillment companies have weak Shopify-native evidence, and a few widely promoted names have none at all. None of this means the service is bad. It means the integration is unproven, and you should test before you migrate inventory.
- eFulfillment Service: The best commercial terms in the category, with no setup fee, no order minimum and no long-term contract. Reviewers of the 2.9-star app describe it as a link to an awkward page.
- Red Stag Fulfillment: A strong specialist for heavy and oversized products with written guarantees on shrink and mispicks, but its Shopify app has been live since August 2023 without a single review.
- ShipCalm: States that it connects through a native app using Shopify’s Fulfillment Orders API, and publishes no order minimums, which is rare. No public App Store listing exists to corroborate the integration, so ask to see it working.
- DCL Logistics: Six U.S. facilities plus European and Canadian operations, real-time order transmission and ship acknowledgements. One review on an app that has been live since October 2014.
- AMZ Prep and ShipHype: Both rank themselves first on their own published roundups. Neither has a Shopify App Store listing. AMZ Prep describes itself as a Shopify Recommended Fulfillment Partner, and it does not appear on Shopify’s partner page, in Shopify’s Help Center partner list, or in the Fulfillment Network app.
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment for Shopify
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment lets sellers ship Shopify orders from the same inventory pool they use for Amazon, and Amazon opened its fulfillment services to Shopify, Walmart, and Shein sellers in September 2025. It is also a Shopify Fulfillment Network partner. For a store that already runs FBA, it is the cheapest way to add fulfillment without a second inventory position.
The integration is the weak point. Amazon’s own Multi-Channel Fulfillment app for Shopify holds a 3.6 rating across 74 reviews. Two third-party connectors that do the same job, ByteStand and WebBee, hold 4.9 across 357 reviews and 4.8 across 339. Merchants running Amazon MCF on Shopify have largely voted for someone else’s software.
What Shopify Fulfillment Costs
Fulfillment pricing follows the same shape regardless of platform: a setup fee, monthly storage, a per-order pick and pack charge, and often a monthly minimum. Our guide to how to calculate 3PL costs breaks down the full model with a calculator.
What is specific to Shopify sellers is which minimums apply to the providers Shopify itself recommends. Flexport requires $5,000 in monthly fulfillment spend, and DHL through the network starts at 3,000 orders a month. Neither figure appears prominently on Shopify’s partner page, and both will disqualify a typical small store.
The other cost pressure is parcel. Fuel surcharges pushed parcel shipping rates near record highs in July 2026, and FedEx has been adding surcharges aimed specifically at ecommerce delivery. Whatever a 3PL quotes for handling, the shipping line on your invoice is rising independently.

When Shopify Shipping Alone Is Enough
Under roughly 200 to 300 orders a month, a 3PL’s setup fees and monthly minimums generally cost more than the labor they remove. As the numbers above show, much of the Shopify Fulfillment Network will not quote a store that size anyway.
At that volume the leverage sits in the shipping operation rather than the warehouse. Comparing rates across carriers on every order, automating label creation, batching pickups, and handling returns without sending customers to a separate portal recovers real margin, and it costs a fraction of a single monthly minimum. Rising parcel surcharges make rate comparison worth more each year.
If you do want to outsource at low volume, a handful of providers will take the business. Our guide to fulfillment services for small businesses covers the ones with no order minimums.

How To Connect a 3PL to Your Shopify Store
- Install from the Shopify App Store where possible. A listed app has a public review history and a maintenance record.
- Confirm the app uses the Fulfillment Orders API. That is what allows partial fulfillment, multi-location routing, and proper order splitting.
- Test multi-location inventory behavior. If you hold stock in more than one place, including your own back room, confirm how the app decides what is available to sell.
- Check that tracking pushes back into Shopify. Tracking numbers should trigger Shopify’s own customer notifications.
- Run returns through Shopify admin once before you commit. Returns are where most integrations get thin.
- Send a small batch first. Ship one product line and run it for two weeks before migrating everything. Our guide to freight shipping APIs covers what to ask about the data flow.
Our Take
If integration quality is what you are optimizing for, ShipBob is the safest choice on the evidence available, with 279 reviews behind a 4.4 rating and more than 60 fulfillment centers. ShipMonk and LVK Logistics are close behind on rating with meaningful review volume. Fulfillrite is the pick for a smaller store that wants a proven app and explicit Shopify Plus support. Cahoot is worth a look if its peer-to-peer model fits how you already operate.
The more useful conclusion when comparing fulfillment services for Shopify is about the Shopify Fulfillment Network itself. Shopify no longer runs fulfillment, its network app is rated 1.9, its two published partner lists disagree, and its preferred partner requires $5,000 a month. Treat the network as one source of candidates rather than a shortlist, and judge every provider on whether the integration actually works rather than on whether Shopify has listed it.
FAQ
Does Shopify have its own fulfillment service?
No. Shopify sold Shopify Logistics, including Deliverr, to Flexport in 2023 and operates no warehouses. The Shopify Fulfillment Network is an app inside Shopify admin that connects merchants to third-party fulfillment partners.
Shopify lists eight partners on its fulfillment page: Flexport, Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, Bigblue, DHL, GoBolt, Mayple Global, ShipBob and Shipfusion. The Fulfillment Network app itself lists only four, and includes ShipMonk, which is absent from the partner page.
What happened to Shopify Fulfillment Network?
Shopify built a first-party fulfillment network, acquired Deliverr in 2022, then sold the whole logistics business to Flexport in May 2023 and took equity in Flexport as part of the deal. The Shopify Fulfillment Network name survived, but the thing it describes changed completely.
Today it is a routing and discovery app rather than an operating network. Any article describing it as Shopify-run warehousing is out of date.
How do I connect a 3PL to my Shopify store?
Most providers publish an app in the Shopify App Store that you install directly, authorize, and then configure for inventory locations and order routing. The better integrations use Shopify’s Fulfillment Orders API, which supports partial fulfillment, multi-location routing and order splitting.
What is the best fulfillment service for a small Shopify store?
Most of the Shopify Fulfillment Network is not available to small stores. Flexport requires $5,000 in monthly fulfillment spend and DHL starts at 3,000 orders a month, which rules out the majority of Shopify merchants before pricing is discussed.
Providers that accept low volume do exist, including eFulfillment Service with no order minimum and ShipCalm with no published minimums, though eFulfillment Service’s Shopify app is rated 2.9. Below roughly 200 to 300 orders a month, handling fulfillment yourself with multi-carrier shipping software is usually cheaper than any 3PL contract.
Does Shopify Fulfillment Network cost extra?
The app is free to install, but you pay the fulfillment partner directly and each one prices independently. Shopify does not publish rates for any partner and states only that each app has different setup procedures, requirements and prices.
Can I use Amazon FBA to fulfill Shopify orders?
Yes, through Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, which ships non-Amazon orders from your existing FBA inventory. Amazon opened its fulfillment services to Shopify, Walmart, and Shein sellers in September 2025, and Amazon MCF is a listed Shopify Fulfillment Network partner.
Do I need a 3PL or is handling shipping myself enough?
Below roughly 200 to 300 orders a month, handling it yourself is usually cheaper. Setup fees and monthly minimums at most providers exceed what you would save on labor, and much of the Shopify Fulfillment Network will not accept stores that size.
The signals that you have outgrown self-fulfillment are operational. Packing takes more than two hours a day, you are paying for outside storage, you are missing carrier cutoffs, or you are turning down wholesale orders because you cannot ship a pallet.
What is the highest-rated Shopify fulfillment app?
Among apps with meaningful review volume, ShipMonk and LVK Logistics lead at 4.5 out of 5, across 97 and 78 reviews. ShipBob rates 4.4 across 279 reviews, by far the largest review base of any fulfillment app on the platform.
Several providers show 5.0 ratings on very small review counts, including Fulfillrite at 34 reviews, Bigblue at 11, and GoBolt at four.
