New Amazon Vehicles Starting to Show Up on Streets

Amazon’s new Mercedes delivery vans are starting to be seen on the roadways and byways of America, as the behemoth company starts taking control of its own deliveries. The Amazon Prime vehicle in the above photo is company owned, driven by an Amazon employee. Amazon is also making the vans available to entrepreneurs to run their own businesses delivering packages for the company. Amazon is on an extended earnings streak after making an exclusive deal with the Postal Service in 2013. The earnings have been so great that Amazon owner Jeff Bezos liquidates $1 billion of Amazon stock every year to fund his Blue Origin rocket company. Meanwhile, the Postal Service struggles to replace an aging fleet.
