Executive Moves: ZIM and SmartDrive

      ZIM announced Tuesday that Saar Dotan had replaced Rafael Ben-Ari as the company’s vice president of shipping. Dotan, who had been the vice president of global sales, now has the title of EVP of countries and business development. The move went into effect last Friday. Dotan joined ZIM in 2005.
   ZIM President and CEO Eli Glickman thanked Ben Ari for his “dedication and contribution to the company.” 
   “During his tenure, he led essential business initiatives for ZIM with great success through challenging business periods,” Glickman said.
   ZIM also announced that Yair Teitelbaum has been appointed vice president of global sales, effective Sept. 1. 
   Teitelbaum will be joining the company after working for Colmobil Corporation, serving as senior director of Mitsubishi Motors’ Israel division since 2015. From 1998 to 2014, he was with Partner Communications Ltd. and held various senior positions, including as the head of the sales division for the private and business sectors. 
   In addition, Assaf Tiran, ZIM’s vice president of global customer service, is joining the senior management team, effective immediately. He has 20 years of experience in customer service.

   SmartDrive Systems, a San Diego-based provider of video safety and transportation intelligence, on Monday announced the appointment of John Krumheuer as vice president of North American sales. 
   A veteran sales leader with more than 20 years of experience in transportation technology, Krumheuer assumes leadership of the regional and inside sales teams. 
   “John’s knowledge of the market and the customer is rooted in his deep experience in fleet management platforms and understanding of the problems fleets face in managing multiple systems,” said SmartDrive CEO Steve Mitgang. “His decision to come to SmartDrive is further validation of the significant and growing demand for video safety and an open platform that enables data and technology convergence.”
   Over the past five years, SmartDrive has quadrupled in size by driving the video safety market forward with solutions that push the boundaries of safety innovation and deliver measurable financial benefits to fleets across industries, Mitgang said.
    With the release of the new transportation intelligence platform and SR4 hardware, SmartDrive has architected a solution that enables the future of intelligent transportation while delivering fleets substantial value today, he said.
   Krumheuer joins SmartDrive from PeopleNET, for which he most recently served as vice president of sales and account management.
