Hendricks is the foundation director of the Centers for Youth and Families, which provides specialized prevention, intervention and treatment services promoting emotional and social wellness for children and their families in Arkansas.
“We are excited to announce that Melissa Hendricks will be the first female to hold the chair position on our board,” said Bryan Day, LRPA executive director. “We look forward to her leadership as board chair, which we know will bring the same energy and tenacity that she has applied to make our community a healthier and economically stronger place to live and work.”
Also sworn in were Greg Joslin as vice chair and Joe Bailey as treasurer.
Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola appointed Clay McGeorge to a five-year term on the board. He is president of Jeffery Sand Co. He also is president-elect of the Arkansas Ready Mix Concrete Association and a board member of the Arkansas Good Roads Foundation.
LRPA also reported increases in tonnage. “The Port of Little Rock followed a near-record month in June with continued success. Forty-five barges with a combined 70,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded; 28 barges with more than 43,000 tons were worked at the slackwater dock; and an additional 17 barges were worked at the main river dock,” it said.
