EPES acquires Atlantic Logistics

Jason Bodford, president of EPES Logistics, said Atlantic Logistics’ customers will gain access to additional services provided by EPES, such as Mexico and Canada service, flatbed, freight management, drop trailer service, LTL and expedited shipping.    EPES Logistics, a third-party logistics and freight management firm based out of Greensboro, N.C., said it has acquired Atlantic Logistics, a transportation broker based in nearby Charlotte, N.C., to further expand its operations in the U.S. southeast.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jason Bodford, president of EPES Logistics, said all staff from Atlantic Logistics will be retained.
Brad Moore, previous owner and president of Atlantic Logistics, will assist with the transition.
Bodford said Atlantic Logistics’ customers will gain access to additional services provided by EPES, such as Mexico and Canada service, flatbed, freight management, drop trailer service, less-than-truckload (LTL) and expedited shipping.
The takeover of Atlantic Logistics makes a total of five acquisitions by EPES during the past four years. In July, EPES bought Epic Logistics in Smithfield, N.C. Previous deals also include the acquisitions of Freight Shakers USA of Hampton, Ga. in 2013; along with Meredith Transport of Archdale, N.C., and Cargo Masters of Charlotte, both in 2012.
