MOL makes logistics push

MOL Group said it’s expanding its logistic services.
The Japanese company noted “in recent years, particularly in the Mekong region, the group has aggressively developed its networks, and providing a wide variety of competitive service options in Thailand and Vietnam.”
MOL said it “has confidence in the future growth of the logistics business and positions it as a business domain that will yield stable profits,” and is “taking a more proactive stance in increasing investment, expanding investment businesses and enhancing services, while building upon the advantages of its group companies.”
MOL said its logistics services include:
  • MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., a combined logistics service/forwarding business in 22 countries. This year it opened new subsidiaries in Cambodia, Indonesia and a branch in Central Mexico.
  • MOL Consolidation Service will see its volume reach 180,000 TEUs this year.
  • Utoc Corp., a heavy-weight cargo transport company with businesses centering on harbor and port transit, logistics, and plant transit. In Japan, it operates 14 warehouses and has a fleet of 200 vehicles, mainly used for container transport as well as special vehicles for plant transport.
The company said it’s also expanding its logistics buisness in Thailand where it has operated for 40 years.
