Executive Moves: Port of New Orleans, Amerijet

Jensen is tapped as a commissioner; air cargo carrier announces leadership team appointments.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed Jack C. Jensen Jr. to the Port of New Orleans Board of Commissioners.
Jensen, one of two Jefferson Parish representatives on the seven-member panel, was sworn in during the board’s June meeting. He will serve a five-year term.
Jensen founded Transportation Consultants Inc., also known as TCI Trucking and Warehousing, with one truck and one employee in 1983. Today, TCI is the largest independent trucking and warehousing company in the New Orleans region. After years of diversifying his business portfolio, he formed Jensen Companies, a holding company that includes trucking, warehousing, real estate development, resin and polyolefin packaging, marble, granite and plumbing distribution, import grain and seed sterilization, third-party logistics and customs house brokerage services.

Vic Karjian, CEO of Miami-based all-cargo carrier Amerijet International Inc., on Thursday announced the appointments to the leadership team of Jon Olin as senior vice president for corporate strategy and administration and Derry Huff as vice president of sales and marketing.
Olin will be responsible for developing and guiding strategic growth opportunities and leading various administrative functions. Prior to joining Amerijet, he spent 15 years as a top executive with Deutsche Post-DHL. Olin previously was the chief administrative officer for Southern Air.
In his new role, Derry, who had been Amerijet’s vice president of strategic initiatives, will oversee the overall sales, marketing and development of the company’s portfolio of products. Since joining Amerijet in 1989, he has held a variety of positions, including Boeing 727 captain, chief pilot and director of operations. Derry transitioned from operations to business development in 2008.
