Executive Moves: EROAD and VARGO

Compliance director gets seat on industry committee; Ohio company hires two and promotes two.
EROAD, a global technology provider of fleet management, electronic tax reporting and ELD compliance solutions for the transportation industry, on Tuesday announced that Soona Lee, director of regulatory compliance, has been appointed to serve a two-year term as an industry representative on the International Registration Plan (IRP) Education Committee.
EROAD is headquartered in New Zealand, with North American offices in Portland, Ore.
The IRP is an agreement among 48 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and 10 Canadian provinces that recognizes the registration of commercial motor vehicles registered by other jurisdictions and provides for payment of apportioned licensing fees based on the total distance operated in all member jurisdictions.
As director of regulatory compliance at EROAD, Lee is responsible for understanding regulatory context and policies and technical requirements and translating them for development of the company’s suite of compliance products. She has subject matter expertise in electronic logging devices in North America and works closely with carriers, drivers and the enforcement community to improve compliance, safety and efficiency through the implementation of technology.

VARGO, a Hilliard, Ohio-based provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for fulfillment and distribution centers, on Tuesday announced four appointments.
The company has hired Nathanael Bell-Pactat as a software support technician on the quality assurance and implementations team.
He previously managed the infrastructure for Suncorp Group’s superannuation platform in Sydney, Australia.
VARGO appointed Charles Yazoume Lamien as a project manager on the systems integration team.
Before joining VARGO, Lamien was a project manager at Intelligrated and a controls engineer at Dematic.
Vicki Rosemeir has been promoted to senior project coordinator.
Rosemeir joined VARGO in 2008 as a project coordinator. She also has worked as a store manager at Global Living Furniture and as an executive assistant at Online Computer Library Center.
VARGO promoted Abid al-Ikashi to lead quality assurance engineer.
He joined the company in 2017 as a software engineer. His previous experience includes a stint as an IT manager and programmer at a company in his native Baghdad, Iraq.
