Hapag-Lloyd grows feeder network in Scandinavia

Ocean carrier adds calls to Norway and Sweden to its feeder services in North Europe.    Ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd will begin calling Oslo on its Baltic Express Service (BAX) in June.
   The BAX will then link a total of six ports in Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Russia with hubs in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, where it will connect to the company’s global service network.
   The first ship is scheduled to depart from Oslo on June 4. The new port rotation of the BAX service will be Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Oslo, Muuga/Tallinn, Saint Petersburg, Kotka, Klaipėda, Gdynia, and Hamburg.
   In addition, Hapag-Lloyd will now offer customers two calls a week in both Gothenburg and Helsingborg, Sweden
   The carrier’s Sweden Denmark Express (SDX) is adding a call in Gothenberg as its port of origin, with the first departure scheduled for June 9. The full port rotation for the SDX service will be Gothenburg, Aarhus, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Helsingborg, and Gothenburg.
   The port rotation of the Gothenburg Express (GTE), however, will remains unchanged, calling Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Helsingborg, Gothenburg, and back to Bremerhaven.
   Hapag-Lloyd has a total of five dedicated feeder services in the Baltic region/Scandinavia, all of which are connected to its global service network via hubs in Hamburg and Bremerhaven.
