Anderson to head Port of Tampa

   A. Paul Anderson, chief executive officer of the Jacksonville Port Authority, is leaving the agency to become the next port director and CEO of the Port of Tampa.
   Anderson, a former member of the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission, will succeed Richard Wainio, who had served as head of the Port of Tampa since March 2005.
   Anderson has been at Jacksonville for less than two years. He was FMC commissioner from 2003 to 2008 and a senior fellow of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. After he left the FMC, he was president of the International Oil Shipping Co., based in Boca Raton, Fla.
   The Tampa Port Authority board on Tuesday approved Anderson as its next CEO and directed Chairman William “Hoe” Brown to negotiate an employment contract to be brought back to the full board for approval.
   Jaxport Chairman James P. Citrano said he would ask Anderson “to stay on with us for a period of time” and the port “will remain in the able hands” of Executive Vice President Roy Schleicher, Chief Operating Officer Chris Kauffmann and Chief Financial Officer Mike Poole. “This dedicated team will provide consistency and continuity,” Citrano said. – Chris Dupin
