The sale represents a $22.5 million deal for TCC, $11.5 million of which is U.S. export content.
This bid was supported by the U.S. Commerce Department’s Advocacy Center, which coordinates federal resources and authority to help level the playing field on behalf of U.S. businesses as they compete against foreign firms for specific international contracts or other U.S. export opportunities.
“TCC benefited from an aggressive, coordinated interagency commercial advocacy campaign spearheaded by our Advocacy Center to win a contract that will mean more jobs for American workers,” said Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sánchez in a statement.
This sale represents the largest contract in TCC’s history. As part of the sale, TCC will establish a John Deere service center in Chad to provide aftermarket sales and service to PNSA and its customers.
Since its formation in 1993, the Advocacy Center has coordinated U.S. government resources to help hundreds of American companies, including small, midsized and large enterprises in various industry sectors, win government contracts across the globe. In fiscal year 2012, the Advocacy Center client companies reported 53 wins with a total estimated value of $87.1 billion and U.S. export content of $73.9 billion, Commerce said.
