Aker Philadelphia Shipyard delivers Exxon Mobil tanker

Tanker will be used to move crude oil from Alaska to West Coast ports.    Aker Philadelphia Shipyard has delivered its second Aframax tanker to SeaRiver Maritime, Exxon Mobil’s U.S. marine affiliate.
   The 115,000-deadweight ton tanker Eagle Bay will be used to move Alaskan North Slope crude oil from Prince William Sound, Alaska to the U.S. West Coast.
   The vessel is equipped with double hull protection, the latest navigation and communications equipment, and an energy efficient engine.
   Aker delivered its first Aframax Tanker, the Liberty Bay, to SeaRiver in 2014.
   The shipyard is currently building four 50,000-dwt product tankers for Crowley. In addition the company has contracts for two 50,000-dwt product tankers for Philly Tankers LLC and two 3,600-TEU containerships for Matson Navigation, with deliveries scheduled for 2018.
