SWISS implements new aircraft

SWISS WorldCargo, the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., will launch the first of its new regional Bombardier CS100 cargo planes July 15 to replace its aging fleet of Avro RJ100s.    SWISS WorldCargo, the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., said the first of its new regional Bombardier CS100 cargo planes will enter service July 15.
   The planes will replace the company’s aging fleet of Avro RJ100s through the fall of 2016.
   The first of the CS100s will operate between Zurich and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports, SWISS said.
   “Compared to the RJ100, the CS100 reduces carbon emissions effectively, a fact which is often demanded by our customers,” said Ashwin Bhat, head of cargo at SWISS, in a statement.
   The airline estimates the carbon emissions reduction from the CS100 to be about 25 percent more when compared to the RJ100, equivalent in cargo-carrying capacity and much quieter than the predecessor aircraft.
   Other SWISS destinations in Europe to receive the CS100 service include Manchester, Prague and Budapest in July; Warsaw and Brussels in August; and Nice, Stuttgart, Hanover, Milan, Florence and Bucharest in September.
