Northeast China air cargo hub eyed at Shenyang

   Shenyang Airport currently has a single runway and cargo terminal (a joint venture between the airport, China Southern Airlines and Sinotrans).
   The airport is served by China Southern Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Spring Airlines. In addition, China Postal Airlines and SF Airlines operate scheduled freighter services to Shenyang Airport. 2015 cargo throughput at the airport was 142,000 tons, up 2.7 percent from 2014, according to Liaoning Airport Management.
   “Although specific plans are yet to be agreed between the parties, Shenyang is known to be targeting the development of cool chain and pharma traffic – a sector with which HACTL has considerable experience,” Liaoning Airport Management said.
   Shenyang Airport will start the agreement with a market analysis and hopes to begin cargo facilities development within the next several years.
