Jaxport CEO Taylor resigns

The Jacksonville Port Authority’s governing board on Wednesday voted to accept Chief Executive Officer Brian Taylor’s resignation, and appointed Eric Green, current senior director of government affairs for the North Florida port, to acting CEO.    The Jacksonville Port Authority’s (Jaxport) governing board on Wednesday voted to accept CEO Brian Taylor’s resignation.
   According to a Jaxport press release, Taylor will “pursue other business opportunities.”
   “We look forward to working with Brian in the private sector in the future,” Jim Citrano, Jaxport’s board chairman, said in a statement.
   Taylor joined the port authority in 2013 after serving for many years in executive roles at both Sea-Land Service and Horizon Lines. He replaced Paul Anderson, who left Jaxport to become head of Port Tampa Bay.
   Taylor is credited with helping the port complete the Mile Point project, an on-line rail facility serving Blount Island and Dames Point terminals; upgrade berth, dock, and rail infrastructure and add three new 100-gauge electric container cranes, which entered service in December; as well as signing an agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers to deepen the Jacksonville channel to 47 feet.
   The Jaxport governing board immediately appointed Eric Green, the port authority’s senior director of government affairs, to serve as acting CEO of the North Florida port.
