Troy expands services in South America

   Non-vessel-operating common carrier Troy Container Line will offer an array of new full- and less-than-containerload services to and from Bolivia, Chile, Peru, and Paraguay.
   Weekly services are now available to and from San Antonio, Chile; Callao, Peru; and Bolivia, while services will be bi-monthly to and from Paraguay, the Red Bank, N.J.-based company said.
   Troy will use port terminals in New York and Florida for outbound containers to these countries. For example, the NVO will ship into the Port of New York and New Jersey via San Antonio and Callao, in addition to Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Santos, and Guayaquil. From the Northeast port, Troy will connect inbound shipments from these markets to more than 70 destinations throughout the United States.
   Troy’s increasing presence in South America further supports its goal to offer competitive rates and fast transits to this growing market, said Patricia L. Fitzgerald, the NVO’s chief operating officer for exports.
   In October 2012, Troy worked with Argentina-based agent MSL to initiate services to and from Buenos Aires, Rosario and Córdoba, as well as Montevideo and Santos. Troy said it will continue its partnership with MSL to ensure efficient services in its new South America trade lanes.
