TransForce acquires Hazen Final Mile

Together with Dynamex, the two units will offer final mile delivery in more than 70 markets.    The Canadian trucking company TransForce has acquired Hazen Final Mile from Hazen Transport of Taylor, Michigan.
   Transforce told American Shipper the deal is a strategic acquisition in which Hazen Final Mile will be combined with Transforce’s Dynamex unit, which also does “final mile” delivery.
   Alain BeBédard, the chairman, chief executive officer and president of TransForce said the combined companies will operate in more than 70 markets and offer final mile distribution, retail home delivery, and other specialty services.
   Founded in 1992, Hazen Final Mile services nearly 500 daily routes in 17 major U.S. markets with a fleet of more than 300 owner operators. The company reported annual revenues exceeding $45 million, and its customers include several Fortune 500 retailers, manufactures, and distributors in a wide range of industries including automotive, healthcare and home products.
   Hazen Final Mile will retain its brand and operate as a separate division with Richard Palmer reporting to Scott Leveridge, President of Dynamex US.
