U.S. Space Industry ‘Deep Dive’ review on line

   The U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security Office of Technology Evaluation has initiated a Website to show preliminary results from its ongoing U.S. Space Industry ‘Deep Dive’ assessment.
   Started in June 2012, the BIS study is based on a mandatory data collection from over 9,000 companies, universities, non-profits, and U.S. government agencies related to the U.S. space industrial base.
   “The primary goal of the assessment is to gain an understanding of the complicated network supporting the development, production and sustainment of products and services across the defense, intelligence community, civil and commercial space sectors,” BIS said. “These preliminary results will provide industry stakeholders important findings from this unprecedented data collection and will allow respondents to better understand how their data is utilized.”
   The results Website will be updated with additional data as more surveys are collected and tabulated, the agency said.
