Executive Moves: Omni-ID and Union Pacific

   The board of directors of Rochester, N.Y.-based Omni-ID has appointed Tony Kington as the industrial RFID tag provider’s president and chief executive officer.
   Kington (pictured above) joined QinetiQ Ltd. in 2005 to direct the initial development of the company’s RFID efforts, which led to the formation of Omni-ID. As the founder of Omni-ID, he has led global teams in engineering, sales and customer service and had responsibility for the wholly owned assembly and test facility.
   “As the founder and original patent holder of on-metal RFID, Omni-ID continues to excel in solving tracking and identification challenges driving the Internet of Things with unprecedented accuracy and reliability for our customers in the manufacturing, supply chain, oil and gas, energy, IT asset management and transportation industries,” Kington said.
   Union Pacific announced three executive appointments effective April 1.
   Jon Panzer has been named senior vice president of technology and strategic planning. Jennifer Hamann has been appointed senior vice president of finance. Gary Grosz has been promoted to vice president and treasurer.
   Panzer, currently vice president and treasurer, is a 23-year Union Pacific veteran. He has held leadership positions in planning and analysis, finance and marketing and sales. He will succeed Lynden Tennison, who is retiring March 31.
   Hamann, currently vice president of planning and analysis, will add responsibility for the investor relations and treasury functions. Hamann has been with UP for 27 years. She has held leadership positions in investor relations and marketing and sales and formerly served as general auditor. 
   Grosz, currently assistant vice president of corporate finance, will succeed Panzer while retaining his current responsibilities. Grosz has been with Union Pacific for 37 years, all in the company’s finance department.
