Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Dubai-based Emirates, has added Guadalajara, Mexico, to its flight schedule, further expanding its freighter network to more than 125 destinations around the world.

The cargo flights to Guadalajara will be operated by Emirates’ Boeing 777-F aircraft, adding 110 tons of cargo capacity per flight. Guadalajara will be Emirates SkyCargo’s second cargo destination in Mexico and its 15th cargo destination in North and South America.

“Emirates SkyCargo has been facilitating trade between Mexico and the rest of the world since April 2014, when it first commenced scheduled freighter services to Mexico City,” the company said in a release. “The freight division of Emirates has facilitated trade of more than 27,000 tons of cargo, including exports of avocados, berries and other fresh produce from Mexico to markets in Europe and the Middle East.”

The new twice-a-week cargo service to Guadalajara will operate on Mondays and Fridays, arriving at Guadalajara’s Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport from Mexico City at 7:20 a.m. and departing at 9:20 a.m.

Commodities to be moved on the flight include automotive components, fresh produce and other general cargo.

In North America, Emirates SkyCargo operates scheduled flights to Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Washington, Mexico City, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida, and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

In South America, the company operates flights to Quito, Ecuador; Santiago, Chile; and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Emirates is the largest airline of the United Arab Emirates. The airline was founded in 1985.
