Dachser Mexico announced it has launched a weekly less-than-container load (LCL) service between Mexico and Brazil aiming to provide customers with reliable transport, with cargo typically arriving at the destination port in 22 days.
The new LCL service will be between the Port of Altamira in Mexico and the Port of Santos in Brazil.
“Dachser’s expanded LCL services portfolio, including this new route between Altamira and Santos, provides our customers with predictable ocean transport options, which allows them to plan with certainty and operate with efficiency,” Edgardo Hamon, managing director of ASL Mexico at Dachser, said in a statement.
Dachser’s Altamira-to-Santos service offers smaller cargo shipments, a dedicated staff assigned to service the route, along with the flexibility to provide tailor-made solutions to customers, according to a release.
According to Trend Economy, exports from Mexico to Brazil totaled $2.93 billion in 2020, with more than 25% of the total value from automotive industry exports.
Imports to Mexico from Brazil totaled $5.49 billion in 2020. The main imports from Brazil included $482 million for automotive vehicles/parts, $217 million for corn and $201 million for supplies of iron and steel.
Dachser Mexico is a unit of Kempten, Germany-based Dachser Group, which offers transport logistics, warehousing, and customer-specific services in maritime and road solutions. The company has 31,000 employees at 393 locations across the globe.
