American Roll-on, Roll-off Carrier adds another ship

ARC said the additional ship will help the company maintain service frequency after a recent fire on board its vessel Courage.

American Roll-on, Roll-off Carrier will add the ship Independence II in order to continue a five-ship, U.S. flag, transatlantic service.
The addition of the ship “will mitigate any service impacts while M/V Courage is assessed for possible repairs,” ARC said. The Courage was damaged after a fire in its cargo hold on June 2, while the ship was in transit from Bremerhaven to Southampton.
The company said the additional ship will allow it continue to offer the service with a 10-day frequency.
