Atlas moves into the 3PL business

Atlas World Group, Inc. has hired Matt Van der Linde to serve as vice president and general manager of its AWG Logistics, which will provide customers with a broader suite of logistic services.
The Evansville, Ind.-based firm said Van der Linde will also oversee the Atlas Specialized Transport Group, an asset-based, less-than-truckload carrier of AWG Logistics.
Van der Linde had previously worked for Suddatch Transportation of Jacksonville, Fla.
AWG Logistics ,a non-asset based 3PL, offers clients customized supply chain solutions that integrate transportation, warehousing and installation.
“We are constantly seeking innovative ways to build our business to benefit our customers, and we believe the hiring of Matt to lead the AWG Logistics team is another step in the right direction for Atlas,” said Jack Griffin, president and chief operating officer of Atlas World Group.
Atlas Van Lines, the flagship of Atlas World Group, is the second-largest carrier of household goods in the United States, but the company also moves cargo including exhibits, store fixtures, electronic products and fine art. – Chris Dupin
