Caribbean shipowners announce rate increase

   The Caribbean Shipowners Association announced a general rate increase that will go into effect June 16.
   The increase is applicable to all contract and tariff rates, northbound and southbound, to and from all Caribbean basin service destinations. The increase is $75 for 20-foot containers,  $150 for 40-foot containers and $169 for 45-foot containers.
   Association members are CMA CGM, Seaboard, SeaFreight, Tropical Shipping, Crowley and Zim. They provide service to and from Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saba, St. Barths, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent, Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana and Suriname. – Chris Dupin
