China-Australia express service launching

Hyundai Merchant Marine, APL and Evergreen will participate.

A premium container service between China and Australia is being launched by Hyundai Merchant Marine, APL and Evergreen.
The first sailing for the new service will be on Aug. 17 from Ningbo and will operate five 4,600-TEU ships with the following rotation: Ningbo-Shanghai-Yantian-Sydney-Melbourne-Brisbane-Ningbo.
HMM is calling the service the A1X or Australia No.1 Express, while APL is calling it the China Australia 6 service.
Evergreen and APL will deploy three vessels, while HMM said it will supply two of the ships.
HMM said that previously it had provided the service through a slot purchase from Maersk, MSC, ONE and Hamburg Süd.
