CMA CGM, NileDutch upgrade East Coast South America – West Africa service

CMA CGM said it and NileDutch will upgrade a service between the East Coast of South America and West Africa.
CMA CGM said larger vessels will operate in what it calls the SAMWAF service, with calls in Lomé, Togo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, being added.
There will be transshipment opportunities, CMA CGM said, to Montevideo in Uruguay and Asuncion Paraguay via Itajaí in Brazil, and Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and other African destinations available via Lomé.
The company said from the end of May to August, it will share allocation on 2,500-TEU NileDutch vessels.
After August, CMA CGM and NileDutch will enter into a vessel-sharing agreement with four vessels of 4,250 TEUs operating in the service, two contributed by CMA CGM and two by NileDutch.
The service will provide bi-monthly departures and operate with the following rotation: Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Itajaí, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Lomé, Pointe Noire, Luanda and Buenos Aires.
