COSCO containership, tanker collide

A chemical tanker collided with COSCO’s containership Fei He on Jan. 29 while arriving in Singapore from Tanjung Pelepas.
COSCO said the ship sustained damage to the portside hull, resulting in some spillage of bunker fuel.
The vessel crew immediately reported the incident to Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).
“With assistance of MPA, the spillage was under control. No further spillage of fuel is observed, the sailing channel is unaffected, and no report of injury and cargo damage. Now Fei He is in her stable condition,” COSCO said in a statement Friday.
