Crowley christens new ATB

Crowley Maritime Corp. christened the 16,000-horsepower tugboat Legend and 330,000-barrel tank barge 750-2 in Tampa, Fla. on Thursday.
The articulated-tug-barge (ATB) will be used to transport petroleum products between the U.S. Gulf and East coasts.
The ATB is the second in a series of three similar size ATBs being built for Crowley. The barge was built by VT Halter Marine in Pascagoula, Miss., and the tug by Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, Wash. The barge has similar capacity to the self-propelled tanker Pennsylvania that Crowley recently put into service.
