Dicom acquires Orbis Logistics

Montreal-based Dicom Transportation Group has acquired Orbis Logistics to add “final-mile” capabilities and a stronger distribution presence in the United States.

   Montreal-based Dicom Transportation Group has acquired Orbis Logistics to add “final-mile” capabilities and a stronger distribution presence to its operations in the United States. 
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   Orbis operates primarily within the U.S. Southeast and Midwest. The company maintains final-mile and cross-dock services in New Orleans, La.; Birmingham, Ala.; Lakeland, Fla.; and Indianapolis, Ind..
   “Orbis Logistics serves as a perfect final-mile complement to our current transportation network in the United States, and we are excited to offer these expanded services for both the Canadian and U.S. based companies,” Dicom Chief Executive Officer Scott Dobak said in a statement.
