Kaylee Nix launched At Your Doorstep, the visual component of the newest FreightWaves brand, Modern Shipper, with an interview with Ryan Walsh, co-founder and CEO of Valqari.
The Modern Shipper editorial brand is headed by FreightWaves Managing Editor Brian Straight and covers the future adaptations of delivery services. At Your Doorstep as a show will focus on all things gig economy, technology advances, last-mile delivery and the future of freight.
On the first episode, Nix discusses Valqari’s initiative of secure drop boxes for drone parcel delivery. Walsh details how Valqari provides receptacles for companies to deliver small parcels to and how recipients use a code to get into the box and access their packages.
Recently Valqari debuted its technology with a demo delivering food and beverages on a golf course in Arizona. Walsh said the goal is to provide safe boxes at places like apartment complex balconies so people can receive packages directly to their homes without the threat of theft.
