People look forward to Prime Day for deals on things from electronics to cookware to clothing. Last year, Amazon pushed Prime Day to October as a result of low supplies from the pandemic, kick-starting a 75-day preholiday shopping spree that accelerated the buying season.

With one day of deals down, what do sales look like for Amazon so far? Andrew Cox looks at the early data for Prime Day deals on this episode of Great Quarter, Guys.

Cox also welcomes two special guests to the show, starting off with Richard Greening, global technical director at presenting sponsor DDC FPO. They talk about current market research done by DDC and what global supply chains look like.

The second guest is Glenn Koepke, senior vice president of customer success at FourKites, and Koepke discusses some of the consumer buying trends indicated by pre-Prime inventory data. The two also look at their predictions for Prime Day results and how parcel carriers will need to adjust moving into peak season.
