Butner elected board president; Magnusson joins advisory committee; Oud named to panel; and Pulfer hired in Ohio.    Oakland, Calif. business leader Cestra “Ces” Butner has been elected president of the Port of Oakland’s governing board. The Board of Port Commissioners selected their colleague for the top post at a meeting last week.
Butner, founder of Oakland-based Horizon Beverage, succeeds Joan Story, who will remain on the board.
Commissioner Andreas Cluver was elected first vice president, and Commissioner Michael Colbruno was tapped as second vice president. All three officers take over their new roles July 26.
This is Butner’s second term as president. He previously held the role from July 2013 to July 2014. This past year he has been the first vice president.

Lars Magnusson is joining The International Air Cargo Association’s (TIACA) Shippers Advisory Committee as the Ericsson industry representative.
The committee is made up of representatives from different industries to encourage all sectors of the air cargo supply chain to engage in discussion and embrace new processes, technology and greater transparency.
Magnusson is responsible for business architecture for Deliver at Ericsson AB in Stockholm, Sweden. He has more than 25 years of international experience in supply chain management and specializes in digitization.

Susanne Oud has joined the board of directors of the British International Freight Association.
She replaces Roy Baker, who has stepped down after 13 years on the board.
Oud is an operations director for OIA Global and is based at its headquarters in London.
She joined Bellville Rodair in 1998 and helped build it into an international company. It was acquired by OIA Global in 2013.

VARGO, a provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for fulfillment and distribution centers headquartered in Hilliard, Ohio, has hired Brian Pulfer as its solutions development and data analytics manager.
