Executive Moves: BluJay, OmniTRAX Energy Solutions

A new CEO steps in and a president is tapped to deepen relationships in the energy sector.

Supply chain software and services provider BluJay Solutions announced Wednesday that Andrew Kirkwood (pictured above) has joined the company as chief executive officer.
“His 25 years of experience in the supply chain and SaaS market will help BluJay continue to drive ever-higher levels of performance and customer satisfaction,” the Manchester, U.K.-based company said in Wednesday’s announcement.
Kirkwood joins BluJay after 14 years at RedPrairie and JDA Software, which acquired RedPrairie, and leadership roles in sales, marketing and product development. Most recently he was senior vice president and general manager of supply chain execution for JDA.
BluJay said that after three years former CEO Doug Braun “successfully leaves the company after positioning it for the next stage of growth.”
Paul Isle, chairman of BluJay’s board, said, “Doug did an exceptional job reorganizing and rebranding the company while integrating five acquisitions over his tenure. We wish him well. Andrew and Doug have worked together in the past, which enables an efficient transition for our employees and customers.”
Kirkwood said he will be “focused on innovation, customer satisfaction and creating a great place to work in order to drive strategic value for our customers, employees and shareholders.”

Justin Renfro has been named president of OmniTRAX Energy Solutions (OES).
OmniTRAX Inc. is a privately held North American transportation service company and an affiliate of The Broe Group. OES comprises the company’s offerings to the proppant supply chain, including terminals in several basins, transload operations and Arrows UP LLC, a containerized proppant delivery and storage solution provider, plus the ShaleTECH Transport joint venture that provides last-mile transportation and energy logistics solutions.
“Justin is working to further develop relationships with senior management in the energy sector and create a stronger understanding of OES’ services, assets and technology in the industry. Since joining OmniTRAX, he has also helped deploy an industry-leading terminal service and a safety program that recently won a prestigious industry award,” said OmniTRAX CEO Kevin Shuba.
Renfro is responsible for the OES business, leading sales and marketing efforts and executing the strategy for the next phase of growth, and is an executive leader of ShaleTECH Transport. He previously served as senior vice president of business development at OES.
Prior to joining OmniTRAX, Renfro spent eight years as a founding management member of Superior Silica Sands, for which he was vice president of sales and marketing and vice president of logistics.
