Executive Moves: Daseke and BIFA

Daseke has named three new board members, while BIFA appointed a dangerous goods adviser.

   Daseke has added to its board Tom Hund, retired chief financial officer of BNSF Railway; Brian Bonner, retired chief information officer of Texas Instruments; and Ron Gafford, retired chief executive officer of Austin Industries. The company, which began operation in 2009, is comprised of eight open-deck carriers – Smokey Point Distributing, E.W. Wylie, J. Grady Randolph, Central Oregon Truck Co., The Boyd Cos. (Boyd Bros. Transportation, WTI Transport, Mid Seven Transportation), and Lone Star Transportation.

   The British International Freight Association has named Mike Jones policy and compliance adviser to look after issues related to air, aviation security and dangerous goods. Jones, who started his forwarding career in 1977, has worked for Pandair Freight, Air Express International, Hitachi and Track & Signals.
