Executive Moves: DVB Bank and DNV GL

DVB Bank appoints co-division head of its global shipping management, while DNV GL’s group executive VP announces retirement.

   Frankfurt, Germany-based DVB Bank, which specializes in the international transport finance, has hired Ingmar Loges to be co-division head of its global shipping management, effective April 15. Loges will focus on the bank’s business in Europe, the Nordic countries and the Americas. He joins DVB from HSH Nordbank, where he had been head of global shipping for the ship and offshore financing portfolio, and before that he worked in the shipping department of UniCredit Bank.

   Tor E. Svensen, group executive vice president at DNV GL, will retire Aug. 1. He will continue to work in the maritime industry and take up a role as professor at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, focusing on education and research related to safety at sea. Svensen’s career at DNV GL spanned more than 20 years and saw him lead the firm’s maritime business for more than a decade.
