Haines, the vice president of marketing and sales, replaces Larus Isfeld, who the Press Herald reported Monday has resigned.
Isfeld had worked for Eimskip for nine years and led its relocation to Portland, Maine, the newspaper said. Isfeld reportedly said in an email that he intends to stay in Portland and work on “ambitious projects.”
Haines had served as Eimskip’s vice president of sales and logistics manager since July 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also has worked as a senior sales manager with Hapag-Lloyd America, in sales and marketing with American Feeder Lines International and as a senior account executive with Hanjin Shipping.
James J. Tymon was selected to become the sixth executive director of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) during its annual board of directors meeting.
Tymon, who is AASHTO’s chief operating officer and director of policy and management, joined the association in 2013. He will assume his new role when the current executive director, Frederick “Bud” Wright, retires Dec. 31.
As AASHTO’s chief operating officer and director of policy and management, Tymon is responsible for the management of the association’s internal operations, budget and administration. He also works closely with the board in the development of policy positions.
Tymon previously served as staff director of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and as senior adviser to Chairman Bill Shuster.
Earlier in his career, Tymon spent three years with the Office of Management and Budget as the program examiner responsible for overseeing the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
