Executive Moves: From coast to coast

Appointments take place from California to the Midwest to Florida.

   The Port of Oakland has promoted Thanh Vuong to principal engineer in the maritime project design and delivery department, which manages more than $50 million worth of seaport capital projects each year and provides upkeep of more than $1 billion worth of infrastructure.
   Vuong will be responsible for managing the port’s maritime capital improvement and maintenance programs. He will oversee dredging and crane-related work as well as construction, maintenance and compliance activities.
   Vuong has worked at the port for eight years and previously was a supervising engineer. Prior to joining the port, he worked for Caltrans and the City of Fairfield.

   SEKO Logistics has appointed Matt Brown as chief financial officer to replace Dan Sarna, who retired at the beginning of August.
   Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in international business and financial management. He is based at SEKO’s headquarters in Chicago.
   Prior to joining SEKO, Brown was the president and chief financial officer of technology company SUZOHAPP. Before that, he was the chief financial officer of SAE Towers in the power transmission industry. Brown also previously served as executive vice president for Latin America for mobile phone distributor Brightpoint Inc.

   Fleet Advantage, a provider of analytics, equipment financing and lifecycle cost management based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has promoted Matt Hendrix to senior director of fleet services. He also has been named the company’s representative on the Board of Governors of the National Private Truck Council.
   Hendrix, who joined Fleet Advantage in 2014, will serve as a liaison between the fleet services and business development teams and will foster client-facing programs. 

   Evans Distribution Systems of Melvindale, Mich., has hired David Tisdale as transportation operations manager.
   Tisdale has more than 20 years of experience in transportation and supply chain management. “As an expert in cutting costs and streamlining operating procedures, Tisdale envisions Evans being set up for success in a non-automotive environment, expanding beyond the more traditional automotive model. His long-term vision at Evans is to diversify the world of transportation,” the company said.
