Executive Moves: From Dupré to VARGO

Check out the latest hires and promotions in logistics, port management, transportation technology and maritime insurance.

   Dupré Logistics, a privately held asset-based provider of transportation and logistics services based in Lafayette, La., has opened a branch in the Sacramento, Calif., area and named David Joiner as its manager.

   Joiner spent 10 years with C.H. Robinson and, more recently, seven years with USA truck.

   Six people were hired in June and July to staff the Roseville office.


   Port Everglades promoted Rob Jenkins to port security manager. He had been the security compliance manager.

   Jenkins, who joined the Florida port in 2013, previously was a senior marine terminals operations representative for the Port of New York and New Jersey. He also served as a facility security officer for the New Jersey Marine Terminals and managed a 24-hour operations control center. 


   Trimble Transportation, headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., on Monday announced three executive leadership appointments. Promoted were Mark Botticelli to chief technology officer for transportation; Keith Mader to vice president of analytics for transportation; and Trent Lezer to senior vice president of technology at PeopleNet, a Trimble company within the transportation division.

   Botticelli, who joined Trimble in 2005, had been executive vice president and CTO at PeopleNet. He has more than 30 years of experience providing strategic leadership, technology vision and innovation strategy.

   Mader was senior vice president of enterprise architecture at TMW Systems, for which he has worked for nearly 20 years. 

   Lezer, who was vice president of technology at PeopleNet, was a co-founder of Trimble’s Vusion business, which specializes in fleet data integration and analytics.


   Hilliard, Ohio-based VARGO, a provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for fulfillment and distribution centers, has named Georges Sauty de Chalon as its implementation and business analyst.

   He previously worked at Sogeti USA, an IT services company in Cincinnati as its senior business analyst and test lead.

   Shipowners Claims Bureau Inc., the manager of the American P & I Club, announced the appointments of Dorothea Ioannou as chief commercial officer, Arpad Kadi as chief financial officer, Manny Beri as chief information officer and chief security officer, and Philip Clancey as chief actuary and risk officer.
   Ioannou has 20 years of experience in the marine insurance sector. She has had chief responsibility for the Piraeus office for the last decade.
   Kadi, who joined the group in 2002, most recently served as controller and treasurer. He has more than 30 years of professional experience. 
    Beri, who has 20 years of experience, currently serves as chairman of the International Group of P&I Clubs’ information technology subcommittee. 
   Clancey joined the organization in 2016 as senior actuary and risk manager, bringing with him more than 20 years of varied insurance and financial experience.
