Executive Moves: GAC Group and Virgin Atlantic Cargo

Logistics and marine services provider GAC Group shuffles regional VPs, while Virgin Atlantic Cargo appoints regional sales manager for continental Europe.

   Logistics and marine services provider GAC Group has appointed Erland Ebbersten, formerly group vice president for the Africa, Russia and Central Asia region, to group vice president for marine, heading the newly established region covering Abu Dhabi, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
   Thomas Okbo, previously manager of GAC Hong Kong, takes over as group vice president for Africa region, and Lars Bergström, formerly group vice president of the Middle East region, has become group vice president for the Asia-Pacific region and Indian subcontinent, including Pakistan. Fredrik Nyström, previously group vice president of the Asia-Pacific region, has taken over Bergström’s former role.

   Virgin Atlantic Cargo has named Claire Phillips regional sales manager for continental Europe, effective Sept. 5. She has worked at the airline for five years, initially as route development manager and capacity controller. In this new role, Phillips will work with the airline’s cargo customers, as well as 17 general sales agents, across the European continent.
