Executive Moves: GPA and UPS

GPA re-elects board chairman, while UPS names U.S. west region president.

   UPS has promoted George Willis to U.S. west region president, following a two-year tenure as U.K., Ireland and Nordics district manager. Willis succeeds Jerry Mattes, who became U.S. operations manager at UPS.

   The Georgia Ports Authority board has re-elected James A. Walters, president of Walters Management Co., as chairman. Continuing in the role of vice chairman will be James L. “Jimmy” Allgood, chairman of Allgood Pest Solutions, while A.J. “Joe” Hopkins III, director of Hopkins-Gowen Oil Co., will remain secretary/treasurer.
