Executive Moves: IICL, Alabama State Port Authority

Container lessors board elects a chairman; four industry veterans get promotions.

Marco Poggio, managing director of TOUAX Container Leasing Pte. Ltd. (TCL), has been elected chairman of the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) for 2019.
He succeeds Katherine McCabe, president of Beacon Intermodal Leasing LLC.
Poggio (pictured) has been with TOUAX since 2010 and is in charge of all TCL leasing, operations, resale and trading activities and finance. He has more than 20 years of experience in the logistics and transportation industry.
“In the current evolving market, the role of the IICL is key to make sure that industry standards and best practices meet the new requirements globally,” Poggio said.
IICL’s board also elected Robert Sappio, chief executive officer of SeaCube Container Leasing Ltd., as first vice president; William J. Shea Jr., chairman and CEO of Direct ChassisLink Inc., as second vice president; and Brian M. Sondey, chairman and chief executive officer of Triton International Ltd., as treasurer.

He is a 43-year port veteran and has served in supervisory and management positions in general cargo and bulk operations, billing and HR. He also served 23 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, including a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Bill Inge was promoted to vice president of general cargo and central services. He has more than 38 years of experience in maritime transportation and terminal operations. He joined the port authority in 2007 from Dole Fresh Fruit.
