Executive Moves: Starbucks, DHL and Foss Maritime

Starbucks names new executive VP for global supply chain, while DHL appoints senior leadership for its eCommerce division and Foss Maritime promotes new president.

Coffee company Starbucks has appointed Hans Melotte executive vice president for global supply chain. Most recently, Melotte served as Johnson & Johnson’s chief procurement officer, where he oversaw the company’s global procurement team. Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Melotte worked at Procter & Gamble and Coopers & Lybrand.

DHL has named Thomas Kipp head of strategy and business development for its e-commerce/parcel division of its Deutsche Post DHL Group, and Charles Brewer has become the new chief executive officer of DHL eCommerce. Kipp started working with DHL in 1999 and in 2014 was named CEO of DHL eCommerce. Brewer has worked with DHL since 1984. He was part of the pan-African Mara Group before this latest appointment.

Foss Maritime Company Chief Operating Officer John Parrott will take over the role of president of Foss Maritime, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company as of Aug. 1, the company announced Friday. Current President and CEO, Paul Stevens, will remain CEO of Foss until the end of 2016. He will then move to Foss’ parent company, Saltchuk, where he will serve as senior vice president and managing director.
Parrott joined Foss in January from sister company TOTE Maritime.
