Executive Moves: XPO Logistics and essDOCS

XPO Logistics appoints independent director, while essDOCS names chief commercial officer.    XPO Logistics has appointed Gena L. Ashe as an independent director of the company and will chair its nominating and corporate governance committee. She most recently served as chief legal officer of The Brickman Group (now BrightView Landscapes), and held senior legal roles at Catalina Marketing Corp., Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Darden Restaurants, Lucent Technologies and AT&T. In addition, XPO named Michael G. Jesselson, who has served on the company’s board since 2011, as lead independent director. Jesselson is president and chief executive officer of Jesselson Capital Corp.

   essDOCS has picked Ashley Skaanild to be its chief commercial officer. He succeeds Nigel Pusey, who previously served as both CCO and chief financial officer, and will continue as CFO. Skaanild joined essDOCS in 2010 to expand the use of CargoDocs into the container segment. In 2014, he took over as head of trade finance for the company. During his more than 25 years in the industry he has worked at Maersk and GT Nexus.
