Freight forwarder UTi Worldwide has appointed Edward G. Feitzinger as chief executive officer, effective immediately.
He replaces Eric W. Kirchner, who has resigned from the company. Kirchner led the company for the past six years. Other than thanking him for his years of service, no reason was given by the Long Beach, Calif.-based firm for Kirchner’s departure.
Feitzinger joined UTi in 2010. He served as executive vice president for global operations since 2012 and prior to that was executive vice president for global contract logistics and distribution.
In a statement, Roger MacFarlane, UTi’s chairman, said Feitzinger’s “years of experience in the supply chain industry in combination with his proven success leading UTi’s contract logistics and distribution business make him the right choice to lead the company.”
